Madrid 2012 And Hoteliers Sign Agreement

Madrid’s Mayor, Alberto Ruiz-Gallardon, signed an agreement Tuesday with the President of The Hotel Managerial Association guaranteeing the availability of rooms for the 2012 Summer Olympic Games, should the city win the bid.

Under the agreement 35,325 rooms will be reserved for the Olympic Family, media, judges, umpires, sponsors and spectators.

The rooms must be priced competitively, be comfortable and secure. Any modifications made have to comply with the environmental commitments outlined in the Olympic Letter.
