For the next three weeks London commuters will be given leaflets explaining the route of the 10 billion pound Crossrail project which, if approved, would connect east and west London.
London’s Mayor Ken Livingstone has said he wants the project completed by 2012, so that it can be part of London’s bid for the 2012 Summer Olympic Games.
The campaign is ahead of a major public consultation along the proposed route later this fall. The project could provide capacity for an additional 200,000 passengers during the morning rush hour.
