London 2012’s bid leader Barbara Cassani is looking for up to 12 million pounds in sponsorship money to help pay for London’s bid budget of 28 million pounds. The rest of the money will come from the public sector.
Today London 2012 bid officials stepped up their drive to attract blue chip companies and may announce sponsorship deals with several household names in the commercial world within the next three weeks, including foreign companies who invest heavily in Britain, reports the Evening Standard Web site.
Although officials would not disclose which companies had been involved in talks, the site speculated that British Airways, where Cassani began her career in Britain, might be one of the 10 leading backers.
