The UK arm of the global management consultant company Accenture has signed a major agreement to become the fifth top level “Premier Partner” of London’s bid for the 2012 Summer Olympic Games.
Accenture will provide marketing and business support to attract the Olympic Games and Paralympic Games to London.
The company joins EDF Energy, BA, BT and Virgin Atlantic as a Premier Partner and will help to generate support from the UK business community, Government and the public.
It will also provide consultancy and technology support, including managing key components of the bid process, and provide technology insight to help differentiate the London bid from the other four cities bidding for the 2012 Games.
London 2012 head Lord Coe said, “this support shows that London 2012 is a very serious bid, which, if successful, will bring major economic, health and community benefits to this country and will leave London and the UK with much-needed new, world-class sporting facilities for our young people and the athletes of the future”.
