The position of chief executive for London 2012 has attracted more than 1,000 applicants before the Monday deadline. The position will earn the successful candidate 500,000 pounds a year.
London 2012 chairman Sebastian Coe and his deputy Keith Mills will whittle the list down to a handful to be interviewed at the end of the month.
