Les Verts, a Paris’ municipal council party, is supporting Paris’ bid for the 2012 Summer Olympic Games with a few conditions.
It has been reported that the group wants the 2012 Games to be ecological and not “attack” the Parisian environment or give Parisians reason to leave the city.
If Paris wins the 2012 bid Les Verts wants an “ethical” 2012 Games regarding drugs and financing.
The group has some clout, because without its support, Bertrand Delanoe, the Mayor of Paris, does not have a majority within city council.
