Leipzig’s hopes to win the race for the 2012 Summer Olympic Games by planning 97 per cent of events within a 10-mile radius of the market place.
Also, according to the questionnaire to be submitted by January 15 to the International Olympic Committee, 35,000 rooms will be available in a 50-kilometre radius with 7,000 in the media village and 9,500 in the residence hotel program in Leipzig.There will be additional 65,000 rooms in Dresden and Rostock where other venues are located.
