About 8,000 runners from more than 30 countries will be participating in Leipzig’s 28th Marathon Sunday.
It is hoped that having a perfect organization and an interesting route will inspire the International Olympic Committee (IOC) to favourably consider Leipzig’s bid for the 2012 Summer Olympic Games.
The slogan for the Marathon is “Laufen for Olympia” or “running for Olympia”.
