Leipzig’s bid for the 2012 Summer Olympic Games launched an architectural competition for the Olympic Village.
The venue will be built on 112 hectares of vacant land at the port of Lindenauer.
More than 50 architectural companies expected to take part in the competition will be free to create original designs for the structure.
Submissions are to be entered by the middle of March and the winner will be selected on April 15.
