Centrebet’s latest odds for the 2012 Summer Olympic Games host city show Paris at 4-9 (from 1-4 last week), London 7-4 (from 9-2 last week), New York City was unchanged from last week at 12-1, Madrid 20-1 (from 12-1 last week), and Moscow 50-1 (from 33-1 last week).
Mark Worwood of Centrebet, Australia’s leading sports bookmaker says, “there has been a decent betting run on London over the past few days” because of the strikes in Paris during the International Olympic Committee’s (IOC) inspection visit.
But Worwood still thinks that Paris is leading the race by quite a considerable margin and expects its price to shorten “once the IOC visit is old news”.
He added that those betting on London have done so because of the supposed problems with another city’s tender, not because of any great faith in its bid.
