Paris’ City Hall is now draped in a banner with the words “L’Amour des Jeux” (the love of the Games) and the colours of Paris’ 2012 Summer Olympic bid to mark the one-year countdown to the International Olympic Committee’s (IOC) decision on the host city for the 2012 Games.
The banner extends 5.95 metres vertically and 10.75 metres in length. It will be in place until the decision is made on July 6, 2005.
Next in line to be branded are the Eiffel Towner, the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Associations, the Ile-de-France Regional Council, and the French National Olympic Committee.
Philippe Baudillon, CEO of Paris 2012 said “what better way to demonstrate to the world our bid slogan L’Amour des Jeux than to proudly hang it on our City Hall?
“We chose this slogan to reflect the synergy of needs and aspirations that Paris wants to develop with the Olympic family. Paris and France have a deep and historic love of the Olympic Games. The slogan encompasses the French passion for hosting the Games in 2012”.
Meanwhile the Paris 2012 team of technical, transport, security and environmental experts is concentrating its efforts in preparing the strongest candidature file possible for delivery to the IOC on November 15.
