Any success IOC presidential candidate Kim un-Yong has in urging North Korea to take part in next year’s Asian Games in Pusan, South Korea, would likely help to secure his candidacy for the IOC presidency.
Kim said he is going to North Korea this week in a new bid to tempt North Korea back into international competition.
Kim was “very optimistic” that North Korea will take part in the 2002 Games, Asia’s biggest sports event.
