With the Salt Lake City 2002 Games less than two months away, it’s time to make sure everything will run smoothly.
At a general rehearsal late last week, venues and the Main Operations Centre were put to the test.
There was a teleconference between Salt Lake City and the IOC headquarters in Lausanne, Switzerland with live feedback between both parties throughout, simulating Games-time conditions.
And from December 17 to 21 SLOC will hold technical rehearsals using all venues, (except the Salt Lake Ice Centre, which is not available yet).
Several days of competition will be simulated and a debriefing will follow, with the participation of members of the IOC administration.
