Reuter’s reports that Italy’s government has approved an 80 million euro ($106.1 million) funding boost for the 2006 Turin Winter Olympic Games.
The authorization of the funds was the first contribution the government has made since the International Olympic Committee (IOC) said earlier this month it would make up a 170 million euro shortfall in the 2006 Games budget which occurred because of a lack of expected sponsorship deals.
