IOC-USOC Talks Make Progress

Leaders of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and the USOC held a new round of talks Wednesday trying to resolve a long-running money dispute that The Associated Press reports contributed to the failed New York 2012 and Chicago 2016 Olympic bids.

IOC marketing commission chairman Gerhard Heiberg told The Associated Press, “we are getting closer and closer”.

USOC CEO Scott Blackmun says, “hopefully we can continue to make progress going forward”.

Both sides hope a new deal will be signed before the IOC meeting in South Africa early in July.
