An International Olympic Committee (IOC) Coordination Commission administration delegation lead by Rene Fasel is in Vancouver September 6 and 7 for a project review meeting with the Vancouver 2010 Organizing Committee. The meeting will provide the commission with updates on VANOC’s progress since the last full Coordination Commission visit last April.
The review will cover a wide range of topics over two days of meetings. There will be reports on technology, marketing and communication, construction, accommodation and sport and authority relations.
During the visit the group will meet with representatives of local partners such as the Canadian government, the Canadian Olympic Committee, the Province of British Columbia, the cities of Vancouver and Richmond, the Resort Municipality of Whistler, the First Nations and Legacies Now.
Vancouver is hosting the 2010 Winter Games February 12 to 28, 2010. The mountain events will take place in Whistler and Whistler will also host the 2010 Paralympic Winter Games from March 12 to 21, 2010.
