The Olympic Games Study Commission, chaired by IOC member Dick Pound, met July 12 and 13 at the IOC headquarters in Lausanne, Switzerland to undertake a comprehensive review of all aspects of the Olympic Games and to propose changes that will make the Olympics more manageable for future host cities and countries.
At the meeting the commission began its review of data relating to matters including accredited participants, finance, technology, marketing, sports venues and facilities, press and broadcasting.
The commission also reviewed suggestions received via the IOC Web site submitted by athletes, sports fans, sports officials and scholars.
A full report will be concluded in time for the IOC session in Prague in July 2003 with an interim report to be presented at the IOC Executive Board meeting next month.
