IOC Inspection Team Arrives In Korea – Poll Shows Overwhelming Support

An International Olympic Committee (IOC) inspection team arrived in Seoul, Korea Thursday to begin a four-day visit of the city on its bid to host the 2010 Winter Olympic Games.

On Friday, the first official inspection day, there will be morning briefings on the characteristics of the country, region and candidate city; environmental protection and local meteorology; sports and venues.

Afternoon briefings include Paralympic Games, the Olympic Village, Accommodation and Transport.

A new poll on Pyeongchang’s Olympic bid shows that 97.3 per cent of respondents supported the bid, 51.1 per cent were “very supportive” and 46.2 per cent were “supportive”.
