CCTV reports that Jacques Rogge, head of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), told Russian media Wednesday that he wasn’t worried about the preparations for the Sochi 2014 Winter Olympic Games.
Rogge said, “there is nothing to worry about. The construction is on schedule but we are constantly telling the organizers ‘do not waste time'”.
He also paid tribute to the Sochi 2014 Organizing Committee that has so far signed sponsorship contracts with a total worth exceeding one billion U.S. dollars. He said, “process (of attracting sponsors) is not stopped, it will continue, but this is very, very good result”.
He called Sochi a unique location saying, “you can be on the beach and see snow-capped peaks; while passing 30 km you can practice winter sports”.
