An International Olympic Committee (IOC) delegation, led by Hein Verbruggen, is in Beijing for the first IOC Executive Project Review of the year on Tuesday and Wednesday.
The group, comprising members of the IOC administration and IOC experts in areas related to the organization of the Games, is receiving updates on the progress of work since the first full Coordination Commission visit last October.
The team will hear updates on several topics including sport, spectator services, National Olympic Committee services, the Olympic Village, media operations, venue construction and infrastructure, culture and education, and legacy.
Verbruggen said, “I believe 2007 will be another successful year for BOCOG”. He said he was especially impressed by the low ticket price policy implemented by BOCOG. “The Games should be accessible for everybody, so the people need not spend too much money on the tickets”.
