Representatives from the four cities bidding for the 2016 Summer Games, as well as officials from the Vancouver 2010, London 2012 and Sochi 2014 Organizing Committees, are in London attending the International Olympic Committee (IOC) Official Debrief of the Beijing 2008 Games taking place November 24 to 27. It’s a key part of the IOC’s transfer of knowledge program.
During the week there will be a combination of plenary discussions and side meetings looking at the planning, operational and technical elements of organizing an Olympic Games. They include sport, accommodations, transport, culture, education and logistics.
The debriefing will also address participants at the Games such as athletes, spectators, the workforce and the media.
