During the International Olympic Committee’s (IOC) sixth Coordination Commission visit to Turin IOC members, staff and experts studied the progress made by Turin 2006.
Commission Chairman Jean-Claude Killy said, “we were pleased to see how much work has been completed since our last visit, but there is no reason to be complacent.”
IOC members had a productive series of meetings and working groups during the visit on the full range of planning and operational issues, from communication to transport, city operations and accommodation.
There was a venue tour that gave the group a first-hand look at renovation and construction of many of the sites, which will be the focus of the Turin 2006 Winter Olympic Games.
Killy said, “the new Atrium will be a great showcase and communications tool for TOROC in Turin.
In the coming months working groups of the Coordination Commission will continue to meet regularly with their TOROC counterparts, and the entire Commission will meet in Turin in June.
