IOC Commission Gets New Member

Matthew Pinsent, a British Olympic triple gold medallist in rowing, was named Tuesday to the IOC’s Athletes’ Commission following the resignation of javelin thrower Jan Zelezny.

Pinsent narrowly missed being elected to the commission during the Sydney Games, but as the highest vote winner not to be nominated, he was first in line if anyone pulled out.

Pinsent said, “I am pleased and honored to join the IOC athletes’ commission and look forward to actively representing the interest of athletes”.
