The International Olympic Committee (IOC) Executive Board has approved a final version of the competition schedule for the Beijing 2008 Summer Olympic Games.
The Opening Ceremony takes place August 8 and the Closing Ceremony is August 24.
Among the many events, the finalized schedule shows the athletics competitions taking place from August 15-24 at the National Stadium, baseball goes from August 13-23 with the finals being held August 23, equestrian competitions are being held from August 9-20 at Hong Kong Equestrian Venues, the sailing competition takes place in Qingdao from August 9-21, tennis is from August 10-17 at the Olympic Green Tennis Centre with the finals August 16 and 17, and beach volleyball competitions are August 9-22 with the women’s final August 21 and the men’s final August 22.
Meanwhile the BOCOG departments in charge of volunteers and cultural activities have collaborated to launch two posters in line with the volunteers’ recruitment for the Beijing 2008 Games. One hundred thousand posters will be issued and distributed to the public.
