Today the International Olympic Committee (IOC) announced key dates for the 2014 Olympic Winter Bid Campaign. The IOC will open the process in May of this year by sending invitations to bid to the National Olympic Committees (NOC).
The initial short list of candidates will be announced in June 2006, bid books will be due January 10, 2007 and the winner will be announced July 2007 in Guatamala.

January 10, 2007 | Candidature File (bid books) due to IOC. |
mid-Feb. to mid-April, 2007 | IOC evaluation site visits to candidates. |
One month prior to election | IOC releases evaluation report. |
July 7, 2007 | Election of 2014 host city in Guatamala. |
