India’s Commonwealth Bid Helped By Afro-Asian Games

A delegation from the Commonwealth Games Federation (CGF) visiting New Delhi following a successful Afro-Asian Games said the Games’ success will greatly boost its chances of winning the 2010 Commonwealth Games bid.

UNI reports that Monday the CGF delegates visited the Jawaharial Nehru Stadium, IG Stadium, Yamuna Velodrome and the proposed village site near the Akshardham temple.

According to UNI the delegation found the venues to be of world class standards.

The delegates visited other venues on Tuesday.

Hamilton Canada is New Delhi’s only competitor for the 2010 Commonwealth Games bid.
