Independent Review Of Vancouver 2010 Costs

UP reports that the Canadian government has arranged for an independent review of the construction venues for the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympic Games in order to see whether Vancouver 2010’s estimate to complete construction will cost an addition $110 million (Can.) is valid.

According to the initial planning for the 2010 Games the federal and provincial governments agreed to split the construction costs with the province of British Columbia paying any deficit after the Games are over. The province has already agreed to put up another $55 million if the federal government matches it, reports UP.

The original estimated construction costs was $470 million (Can.) but has been revised to $580 million.
