Houston will be evaluated for a second time by the United States Olympic Committee. The visit will take place July 12-13.
Susan Bandy, president of Houston 2012 said, “they’re doing a shorter version of what they did the first time in terms of the site visit. This is totally significant in that, after that, they are reserving the right to cut (the field) again before they go to the board of directors in November”.
Houston is competing against New York, San Francisco and Washington to be the U.S. candidate city for the 2012 Summer Games. The U.S. bid city will be chosen in November.
