Harbin’s elimination from the 2010 Olympic Winter bid race is making the city determined to try again for the 2014 Winter Games, according to state press.
Wang Zuoshu, the vice-governor of Heilongjiang province, told the China Sports Daily, “our work to bid for the Winter Olympic Games will continue on. Although Harbin was unable to enter the list of candidate cities for the 2010 Winter Olympics, Harbin and Heilongjiang province will persevere in our determination…to make contributions to the Olympic movement”.
