Harbin 2010 Mini Bid-Book Summary Now Online

Harbin’s 2010 Olympic Bid Committee has added a questionnaire reply section to their Website that forms a summary of their mini bid-book – a document that is submitted to the IOC by an applicant bid and used to determine whether it meets the requirements necessary to be selected as a candidate. The IOC will short-list the eight candidate Cities on August 29 in Lausanne, Switzerland.

It appears that Harbin has decided not to publish their entire document online which would include financial information, detailed maps, meteorology reports and information about potential opposition groups and other risks. While the other seven applicants have published their entire documents in a printable Web format, Harbin has just published brief section summaries.

The Website reports that 96.3% of the local population supports the bid and that Chinese governments will guarantee all costs and construction projects. Critics have said that Harbin’s chances are slim because local temperatures are too cold and the Games would follow close to Beijings’s 2008 Olympics.
