The Chronicle Herald reports that in six months details of Halifax’s bid for the 2014 Commonwealth Games will be publicly released at a Commonwealth Games Federation event May 9 in London, England.
Halifax 2014 said all information about its proposal, which has been kept secret for what they say are “competitive reasons”, will be disclosed at that time.
Halifax Mayor Peter Kelly said recently he’s not sure if he will be in London in May but he plans to attend the federation’s November announcement in Sri Lanka as to what city will host the 2014 Commonwealth Games.
Next summer the Commonwealth Games evaluation team will visit proposed Game sites in each of the three candidate cities – Halifax, Glasgow and Abuja. The committee will then file a report with the federation, which will be made public.
