A large group of voters from across the Commonwealth will be in Glasgow for four days starting Wednesday to assess the city’s bid for the 2014 Commonwealth Games. It’s the last of the large groups that will visit the city during the bidding process and is made up of the countries that were unable to make their own regional visits.
The delegation will be given an extensive tour of the proposed venues for the Games, receive presentations on the bid, and will meet with senior representatives from the Scottish government, the city council and the Commonwealth Games Council for Scotland, as well as attending several social functions.
The visit begins September 12 and ends September 16.
There will be representatives from the Solomon Islands, Tonga, Republic of Kiribati, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Guyana, British Virgin Islands, Namibia, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Cayman Islands, Pakistan, Montserrat and Samoa.
