Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Bid Train Leaves The Station

A six-carriage train featuring pictures of leading athletes from Scottish sport left Glasgow’s Queen Street station to travel the length and breadth of the country ahead of the selection of the 2014 Commonwealth Games host city.

First Minister Jack McConnell said at the launch, “Scotland’s bid for the 2014 Games is on track to win. This bid train will travel the country spreading the bid message. I congratulate First ScotRail for making this happen, and I urge Scots at home and abroad to join the 2014 team. Working together we can win these Games for Scotland”.

McConnell was joined by sports stars and schoolchildren at the train’s launch.
