Included in Glasgow’s bid for the 2014 Commonwealth Games are plans to host the diving competition in the Tollcross pool in Edinburgh.
The pool would have to be closed to public for a period before, during and after the Games, but according to a report the resulting loss in customer income would be met from the Commonwealth Games fund.
The report states “Edinburgh will benefit from the international profile of the Games, as the diving events will be broadcast to a large television audience from around the globe”.
