Giant Mural Of Hurdler Erected On Toronto Building

Although all the Olympic action is in Moscow this week, sports and art have come together on a Toronto building.

Abacon Media has erected a huge 15-by-12 metre mural of a hurdler who appears to be jumping off a building.

Abacon Media spokesman Les Abro said, “it’s a wonderful opportunity to do something that’s spectacular and large”.

The mural faces the city’s Gardiner Expressway and is a vinyl glass covering, similar to ads used on buses and streetcars. Abro said the artwork of the hurdler was given to them by the TO-Bid team.

Abro said, “I thought about it and saw something like this in Sydney, so was determined to do this in Toronto. It looks great. The athlete looks like he’s jumping out of the building”.
