German Evaluation Team To Present Interim Report

Following its assessment of the cities bidding to become the German candidate for the 2012 Summer Olympic Games, the German Olympic Committee evaluation group will present its interim report to the German Olympic Committee on November 3.

Dieter Landsberg-Velen, head of the team, said the report will not show the ranking of the five bid cities.

He said the selection of the German 2012 candidate would be based on the future use of the sports facilities following the Olympic Games and the support of the German citizens for the 2012 Games.

The committee has already evaluated four cities – Hamburg, Frankfurt, Stuttgart and Duesseldorf. Leipzig will receive a visit from the inspection team November 1 and 2.
