General Electric Will Light Turin 2006 Games

General Electric will be a sponsor of the Turin 2006 Winter Olympic Games. The company will provide a series of electricity generation and distribution systems, including 128 temporary lights for filming the Games and 130 permanent illumination facilities.

General Electric will also sponsor “Torino Ice 2005”, the test events for the Olympic venues which begin in January; and the ice rink between the two pavilions at the Atrium.

For those unable to attend the Games there are more than 500 Turin 2006 official products available ranging from Neve and Gliz soft toys to clothes, chocolates and accessories.

Between September, when they went on sale, until now, more than 2,000 globes with pictures of the two toy dolls have been sold. Now the soft toys which appeared in the Olympic stores a few days ago are selling fast.

Turin 2006 has signed 19 licensing contracts offering a range of items with the Turin 2006 logo.

There are Ferrino mountain accessories, Ikon medals, Cattaneo ties, Ravensburger puzzles, Swatch watches, Fontanafredda wines, Dale of Norway jumpers and many other gift ideas said Licensing Director Lorenzo Giorgetti.

The items can be found at thousands of authorized retailers or over the Internet on the Turin 2006 Web site.
