Associated Press reports that fraud inspectors confiscated nearly 4,000 pairs of plastic sandals with the Athens 2004 and Olympic ring logos in a raid in northern Greece.
In May officials confiscated 13,500 T-shirts and other counterfeit Olympic clothing following a raid in central Athens.
Also, according to reforms to legislation for border guards tabled in Greece’s Parliament Friday, another 50 police officers are to be recruited to boost the special anti-terrorism units operating during the 2004 Summer Olympic Games.
