In its bid to become the German candidate for the 2012 Summer Olympic Games, Frankfurt has started a campaign to recruit more volunteers.
Although the bid already has signed up 17,000 volunteers, the ultimate goal is 25,000.
Volunteers can register by telephone, on the Internet and through five Frankfurt schools.
A lucky volunteer has the opportunity to win a trip to the 2004 Summer Olympic Games in Athens Greece.
Secretary of State Dirk Metz and Heinz-Jurgen Weiss, manager of Frankfurt’s bid, said the bid has received so much support that they are confident that when the German candidate is announced on April 12, Frankfurt will have attained it’s goal of 25,000 volunteers.
All the volunteers will be invited to attend the decision on the German candidate city on April 12.
