According to a study by Roland Berger on behalf of the Dusseldorf Rhine area, Frankfurt is the German bid city with the largest hotels and the most accommodation for visitors, should the city become the German candidate for the 2012 Summer Olympic Games. It’s reported that the IOC requires 42,300 rooms within a 50-kilometre area and the city of Frankfurt presently has 58,000 rooms.
Heinz-Jurgen Weiss, manager of the Frankfurt Rhine Main 2012, said that although there are some mistakes in Frankfurt’s bid that have to be corrected, the study shows that Frankfurt 2012 has some positive features.
He was referring to the general infrastructure of the bid where Frankfurt ranked first in the study.
