Juan Antonio Samaranch, former President of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), said Wednesday that his 25-year association with China assured him of the best Olympic Games in Beijing in 2008.
Samaranch, who is in Beijing to attend the first Sino-Spanish Forum as a co-chairman said, “my friendship with the Chinese people started when I was the Spanish ambassador in Moscow, and it has a history of 25 years. So I know you very well, and I believe you will have the best Games in the Olympic history”.
Meanwhile, the Swiss-based Swatch Group displayed its first set of souvenir watches for Beijing 2008.
The set is prices at 1,680 yuan ($202 U.S.) and includes one watch with dragon outlines, and a red watchcase and watchband featuring Chinese culture.
