Former High Ranking Turin 2006 Official Investigated For Possible Fraud

The Associated Press reports that Marcello Pochettino, former vice director general of Turin 2006, is under investigation for possible fraud.

Pochettino was fired along with Turin 2006 chief executive Paolo Roto on March 7,

At the time of their dismissal Turin 2006 head Valentino Castellani said they were fired because of a feud between the two that was disrupting preparations for the Turin 2006 Winter Olympic Games.

The investigation into Pochettino by the Turin prosecutor’s office is the result of testimony given by Rota a day after the pair was dismissed.

According to the Associated Press Rota said Pochettino fraudulently favoured the Gilardi construction firm that redesigned TOROC’s headquarters, which was reported by the Gazzetta dello Sport on Friday.
