Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa said following L.A.’s 40-minute presentation to the United States Olympic Committee (USOC) Saturday that “we all feel very good about what we presented today, but obviously, the decision is not in our hands”.
He said, “the real story today is America is going to win, and the world is going to win. Both cities are great cities”.
Villaraigosa said his group told the USOC about what he called an unprecedented, private-sector commitment, although he would not say how much money was involved or where it would come from, reports the Associated Press.
