A group of PyeongChang 2014 Winter Olympic “well wishers” are pedalling around the country this week visiting cities, towns and villages to boost PyeongChang’s bid for the 2014 Winter Olympic Games.
The 15-member group includes residents of Wonju, the Gangwon province city that will host the Olympic ice hockey venues, along with members of Korea’s international winter sports fan club, “Dongsamo”.
The cyclists will travel 235 kilometres over three days through the countryside of three provinces with flags on their bicycles bearing the PyeongChang 2014 emblem.
Dongsamo club members will form “host committees” in towns and cities to encourage and provide water for the group along the route.
