Commonwealth Games Officials To Tour Glasgow 2014

A Commonwealth Games delegation from all over Europe is in Glasgow for the next three days touring the city to evaluate Glasgow’s bid for the 2014 Commonwealth Games.

There are representatives from England, Wales, Northern Ireland, the Isle of Man, Guernsey, Jersey, Gibraltar, Malta, and Cyprus, who will tour Kelvingrove and other city attractions.

Sports Minister Patricia Ferguson welcomed the delegates to the city.

The delegates will visit Glasgow’s sporting venues as well as checking out the master plan for Dalmarnock Athletes’ Village and will meet several Scottish ministers as well as representatives from the Commonwealth Games Council for Scotland.

Meanwhile Glasgow is looking for a design agency that can help prepare its bid. The design agency would work on the “Design of the Candidature” file to be submitted to the Commonwealth Games committee.
