Three of the five cities bidding for the 2012 Summer Olympic Games are promoting their respective bids in Andorra la Vella, where the Games of the European Little States have been taking place from May 30 to June 4.
Philippe Baudillon, director of Paris 2012, and Armand de Rendiger, are representing Paris 2012; Alberto Ruiz Gallardon, Mayor of Madrid, and his staff are representing Madrid, and there are officials from the New York delegation headed by Daniel Doctoroff, founder of New York 2012 and deputy Mayor of New York.
International Olympic Committee (IOC) president Jacques Rogge was a guest speaker. He showed up 35 minutes late, delaying the opening ceremony. Former IOC president Juan Antonio Samaranch of Spain was also there as well as some IOC members.
