China is giving its full support to Austria’s bid for the 2010 Winter Olympic Games according to Li Zhijian, vice director of China’s State General Administration of Sports.
Li met in Beijing with Vice Chancellor Susanne Riess-Passer of Austria, who is also in charge of national sports affairs and her delegation, so that the two countries could better communicate in sports like swimming and table tennis.
Li said that Beijing, host of the 2008 Summer Olympic Games, hopes to learn from Austria all about holding large-scale international sports meets.
