Canadian Firm To Outfit British Olympic Athletes

The 100 British athletes competing in the 2002 Salt Lake Winter Games will be wearing uniforms designed by Toronto-based Roots Canada. The company will also outfit the Canadian and U.S. team.

The company is also working on a deal to outfit the British athletes attending the 2004 Summer Games in Athens, where 400 British athletes will be competing.

The British athletes will wear the Roots gear only during the opening ceremony, unlike the Canadians and Americans, who will be dressed in Roots uniforms during the closing ceremonies and high-profile podium presentations.
