Busan’s Metropolitan Government will announce plans for Busan to bid for the 2020 Summer Olympic Games at an event being held Tuesday at the Busan City Hall, headed by Mayor Hur Nam-sik and other high profile politicians and sports figures.
The Korea Culture and Tourism Institute is now conducting a feasibility study on the bid.
Busan originally announced in 2005 an interest to bid for the 2020 Games and according to the Korea Times, has recently been accelerating its moves with PyeongChang which declared it would make a third Winter Olympic Games bid for the 2018 Games after losing to Vancouver and Sochi.
