Bulgaria Could Win 2014 Winter Games – IOC Head

Although the Bulgarian government has not yet decided whether it will bid for the 2014 Winter Olympic Games, International Olympic Committee (IOC) President Jacques Rogge says Bulgaria has a “very big chance” of winning the right to host the 2014 Games, if it were a candidate.

Rogge was in Bulgaria for the 80th anniversary of the Bulgarian Olympic Committee.

Rogge told a news conference in Sofia, “you stand a very big chance if you put forward a good candidacy. It’s never easy to win but you have the fundamentals to achieve that”.

Meanwhile Rogge made no comment about a Bulgarian court decision to extradite John Kim to the United States on charges related to the Salt Lake City bribery scandal. He is the son of IOC vice-president Kim Un-yong.
